[IUG] Millennium and student portals

Hi!

Our university is planning to develop a new student portal. There are 
talks about integrating the library system somehow. E.g. when the 
student logs on to the portal there will an instant message informing 
about checked out books, books on hold shelf, overdue books, etc. Is 
this at all possible? How? Does Millennium allow another system to 
retrieve this type of information?

How have you integrated your library services into student portals? 
(Functions, platforms, protocols, scripts, etc?)
