My boss is looking at re-configuring our website and also how people
find things within our catalog and wondered about a couple of things:
First:
In the Author index if you type in Donald Norman as author, it comes
back with a message saying
Your entry Donald Norman would be here --
Change search to Norman, Donald (link)
Yet if you include a middle initial e.g. Donald A. Norman , the message
is only the "your entry would be here" part.
Is there any way to have it make the suggestion to reverse the name in
both instances?
Also, on a related note, searching by Course Professor even without a
middle initial ALWAYS brings up just the
"Your entry would be here" message with no suggestions.
It would be good to have it behave the same way as Donald Norman above
as well.
Where is any of it controlled? I couldn't find it in the manual. Is
it something that III has to do for us?
Second:
She wonders about the possibility of when you select Author or Course by
Professor using a drop-down menu having a pop-up
come up saying: Type Last Name First Any thoughts on how doable this
might be?
Thanks .
