It is possible. We use a combo approach. On our main search page you can
limit to Location served . In our advanced search you can limit to the
location. Each of our libraries have a separate location code for their
adult , juvenile and young adult collections. Take a look
http://gigcat.midhudson.org/search/X .

I think what you are looking for is the token for Branch limiting. you can
read up on this in the manual at Page # 102136. scroll down for the token
descriptions.

Subject: [IUG] OPAC Question: Locations

This question is for list members currently using Innovative in a
consortial environment.

On the "Advanced Search" on our OPAC, there is a place to "Limit To"
where a visitor can limit a search to a specific library. There is also
a "Location" field where a visitor could limit the search to a specific
location within a library.

My question deal with actually getting "location" to appear in a
consortial environment.

Currently, the "Location" field only shows actual member libraries- so
"Location" is identical to "Limit to."

I am wondering if there is a way to set location to the choice in "Limit
to." In other words, if a user selects "Library X" in the "Limit To"
field, all the locations of "Library X" would be available in the
"Location" field. Similarly, if a visitor chose "Library A" in "Limit
To." Library A's locations would be available in the "Location" field.

I know this is possible if there is only one library in an Innovative
database. I just want to know if this works in a multiple library
system.

Here is some background information. Currently, we have about 10
libraries in an area consortium. We are running Millennium Silver.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks.
