Library Automation Specialist #06013E
Salary: $46,668 - $56,772
Position Description: This position is located in the Public Library supporting automation systems. Typical duties include, but are not limited to:
* Provide user support and operational support for the library's integrated systems, including installation, configuration, and trouble-shooting of client modules.
* Administer all aspects of the Innovative Interfaces INNOPAC library operating system and modules.
* Customize and maintain INNOPAC WEBPAC and related applications, data collection and analysis.
* Serve as liaison to Innovative Interfaces, Inc. to track and resolve problems that cannot be addressed in-house.
* Offer training on new and updated INNOPAC modules, recommend and facilitate staff training programs and tutorials.
* Actively participate in enhancement request process and other activities of the integrated library system user group.
* Attend committee meetings as requested and provide assistance in problem solving for library IT applications.
Education and Experience: Master's Degree in Library Science or Master's in Library and Information Systems degree from an ALA accredited institution and two years of integrated library automation system and administration experience.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
* Prior experience administering an INNOPAC system.
* Experience with MS Access, SQL, XML a plus.
* Knowledge of content-linking and authentications standards including: Open URL, DOI, Z39.50 and Web design and associated resource applications including: ASP, CSS, JavaScript, Dreamweaver, etc.
* Familiarity with Internet information services, EZProxy, OSI, OAI, PURL, Internet Technologies.
* Fundamental working knowledge of PC-based applications including: word processors, MS Access and Excel.
* Knowledge of Windows 95/NT/2000/2003, LAN's, TCP/IP, FTP.
