We went straight to cash. Put the release station at the circ desk and let the clerks take the money and then release the job. At 10 cents a page we very seldom get jobs over $1.
We did look at venda card and one card systems but decided that the initial investment was too great.

Subject: Off-topic question: Printing cards
Can anyone who has gone from paying/releasing printing from public pc's
using magnetic strip cards like Tracsystems or Xerox back to using a
cash/coin operated system contact me. I'm coming from the position that in
a public library environment where people come infrequently and generally
print in small quantities, making them invest a minimum of $1.00 to purchase
a print card and do 30 cents of printing is not good service. I can see
where in a university environment with a consistent user base for a semester
or quarter it makes sense... THX.
