Linda,
Did your previous system require a <return/enter> when the barcode
number was scanned? The Innovative software does need it. Your Percon
reader should have a programming manual where you can change the
settings so that it will send a <return/enter> when the barcode has been
read.

Hello,
The University of Arkansas Community College Library has just gone live
with III (Jan. 3, 2005). We have encountered a problem with our bar
code scanner at circulation. The scanner seems to respond by beeping
but it will not read the bar codes on either the item or patron numbers;
we have manually checked out materials for 2 patrons this week but
classes begin next week and we hope to have this situation rectified.
(We are using the same scanner, Percon, we used with the previous
computer system). I am open for suggestions.
Thanks.
