Does your patron realize that he must first bring up AOL's software and sign
on, then
-separately- bring up his Netscape program? AOL does not invoke Netscape
from within
its own software -- it only calls up its internal version of IE.

Hello Innopacers -

This came up on the list in February but I did not see that any of the
responses dealt with the AOL aspect of the problem. Has anyone had users
unable to get the proxy to work with AOL (version 6, I think) on Windows
XP? The student has downloaded and configured Netscape 4.78 correctly as
far as I can tell. He is not seeing the verification screen prompt so I
conclude that the proxy is not being invoked at all. We've check "the
usual suspects" (cookies, security software) and are stumped.

I guess my next step may be to recommend Netscape 6.2 and AOL but I
hesitate to ask him to download more software that mat not work.

Thank you all in advance for your insight - I learn something from this
list every day.
