Gale,

We had a similar situation in Guicat version 3.2k. We had to go into Tools
-- Options -- Display and uncheck Maximize all windows. After restarting
Guicat, the tabs worked fine. This seemed illogical, but it worked in our
case.

Subject: GUICAT oddities

Dear Colleagues:

We are puzzling over some GUICAT oddities that occur on
specific PCs, not even on all PCs within the same building.
Perhaps some of you have encountered these and can offer
some advice, and if there is a fix, please let me know.

This is the pattern on one PC only, in a building that has
several PCs connected to GUICAT. The PCs appear to have
the same specs, same operating system, same version of
GUICAT.

After working successfully in the function for some variable
length of time, the operator is suddenly unable to double-click
on an item from the item summary list and have it open the
item record. Absolutely nothing happens. Other aspects, such
as searching, still work fine, so we know the function has not
crashed. And/or, once in an item record, the price field cannot
be updated. (Other fields can.) That is if the operator tries to
click directly into the price cell. If she clicks on the itype cell
and then tabs to the price cell, then she can't do anything in
the itype cell either.

And--this is always true--she cannot adjust the columns on
the item summary screen. (Initially the column headers and
what's in the columns don't match, and in 99% of our PCs this
is perfectly easy to fix and stays fixed forever. On this
particular PC, she can make the correction but once she logs
off of GUICAT it reverts to its old way.)

And--this is also always true--she cannot stretch or shrink the
columns on the browse screens. The "cross" character won't
even display. On all the other PCs in the same building, this
problem does not exist.

The person who most often encounters these problems does
not encounter them on the other PCs, so I am discounting any
operator error here.

Any ideas?

Thank you for all your great suggestions on various other
topics!
