We have been using a firewall to protect our servers in the library. Although three
colleauges have already sent good replies, I would like to add one more point : If
you need the flexibilty to upgrade future Innopac releases via FTP, your firewall
should allow FTP traffic for III's IP ranges. Otherwise, your only option is
upgrading via tape. You may also want to check the archive about a timeout issue with
firewalls when upgrading to new releases. Moreover, III staff needs this FTP access
to install necessary fixes to your system, which will be inevitable sooner or later.
I don't know if they send tapes containing fixes.
