Truman State University is currently
seeking applicants for the following Library faculty positions:
  
Catalog Maintenance Librarian, Truman State University.  
Responsibilities:  Performs authority control and catalog
maintenance in the online catalog; manages additions, transfers and
withdrawals of materials; maintains WWW record links; catalogs and
classifies materials using LC classification and subject headings;
assists in supervision of student assistants; participates in
establishing cataloging policies and writing documentation.
Qualifications:  MLS from ALA-accredited program.  Thorough
knowledge of LC classification and subject headings; experience using the
OCLC authority file; familiarity with AACR2rev and MARC formats;
experience with Innovative Interfaces or another online library system.
Ability to work both independently and as a team member. 
Flexibility in a computer-intensive environment. Preferred academic
library experience, reading knowledge of a second language. Complete

Reference/Electronic Resources Librarian, Truman State University. 
Responsibilities:  Provides general reference service, participates
in the library's instructional and collection development programs,
serves as liaison to one or more disciplines, administers and reviews
electronic service subscriptions, and investigates new services as they
are available.  Maintains pages on the library’s Web site. 
Qualifications:  MLS from ALA-accredited program.  Preferred
liberal arts and social sciences background. Excellent oral, written and
interpersonal communication skills.  Demonstrated knowledge of
reference sources and ability to teach.  Must be adaptable. 
Strong commitment to service and teamwork.  Ability to work well
