Thanks to everyone who suggested solutions for this!

Just in case anyone else runs into a similar problem, the gentleman I
talked with on the Help Desk said that we couldn't just change the due
date in the item records because there are other things in the system that
would not be changed properly.  However, he suggested outputting the
patron and item barcode numbers from the review file, using a word
processor to add the information needed to turn it into a series of
renewals for Offline Circulation, and uploading and processing the file
that way.  It was a little tricky to get everything set up properly, but a
*lot* easier than renewing each one individually.

If anyone needs details, I'll be happy to share them.
