We have a simple non-desensitizing 3M installation (books have single-status
triggers and are passed behind the detector unit by Circ staff after issue),
and we have found a flat-screen monitor effective in counteracting
interference from the detector which is stationed very close to the
terminal. We've used it on a Mac and a PC and it seems to work with
either. But they're rather expensive.
