- Subject: Curious subject cross-reference behavior: Tremors -> Tremor
One of my colleagues point out to me that the
cross-reference from 'Tremors' (a See from reference for MeSH 'Tremor') does not
work in the webcat. At first everything looks fine. The response to a subject
search for 'Tremors' produces the following response ( based on a MeSH authority
record):
Tremors is not used in this library's catalog.
Tremor is used instead.
SEARCH for Tremor
However when one clicks on 'Tremor' - the subject
heading used in the catalog - the error message "404 Not Found" comes
up.
The URL for the link to 'Tremor' seems to
provide a clue:
This is obviously a URL that has an incorrect
portion which follows the word "Tremor". I'm aware of the discussion on this
list about conflicts between certain words and some escape
sequences/etc. in web browsers but I cannot explain this particular
oddity.
Any ideas or suggestions?
Is there a listing of words that cause
such odd search results?
Thank you.
