Thanks to all of you who responded so quickly to my call for help on the
Okidata 395.  I tried all of your suggestions, and then made the
last-resort call to Okidata.  According to them, the paper sensor is dead,
and the unit needs to be sent to a service center (5 hour drive away!)

I do appreciate all your help!
